“A piece of California history has come on the market: Hampton House, an elegant 1920s estate in Piedmont, California, will be listed this weekend for $18.5 million.
‘Situated on over an acre of level land that encompasses expansive patios, rolling lawns, a tennis court and a guest house, this magnificent estate was originally conceived by Albert Farr [in 1926],’ said Sarah Abel of Compass, who shares the listing with colleague Julie Gardner.
The 11,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom Bay Area Revival home once hosted President Herbert Hoover as a guest, according to marketing materials. “The Hampton House is a marquis property in the coveted town of Piedmont,” Ms. Abel told Mansion Global.” Piedmont is a wealthy Bay Area enclave that’s bordered on all sides by Oakland.”
